Route My Money ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website and application.
Short version: We collect only what's necessary to run the service. We do not sell your data. We do not connect to your bank. You enter your numbers — we do the math.
Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Email address — when you join the waitlist or create an account.
- Financial data you enter — your income, debts, interest rates, and expenses. This data is entered manually by you. We do not connect to your bank account or access any live financial data.
- Usage data — anonymized, aggregated information about how you use the app (pages visited, features used) to improve the product. This is never tied to your personal identity.
- Device and browser info — standard technical data like browser type and operating system, collected automatically to diagnose issues and improve compatibility.
How We Use Your Information
- To calculate your debt payoff plan and Zero Date based on the numbers you provide.
- To send you product updates, early access notifications, and account-related emails.
- To improve the app based on anonymized usage patterns.
- To provide customer support when you contact us.
We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or financial data to any third party.
No Bank Connection Required
Route My Money does not require you to connect your bank account or any financial institution. All financial data in the app is entered manually by you. We never have access to your bank login credentials, account numbers, or live transaction data.
This is a deliberate design choice — your financial privacy is the product, not the price.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices:
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption).
- Data is stored in Firebase (Google Cloud), which uses AES-256 encryption at rest.
- Authentication is handled via Firebase Auth with secure token management.
While no system is 100% secure, we take reasonable and industry-standard measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service.
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing support@routemymoney.com. We will permanently delete your data within 30 days of your request, except where retention is required by law.
Cookies
We use minimal cookies necessary for authentication and session management. Specifically:
- Session cookies — to keep you logged in during your visit.
- Preference cookies — to remember your settings (e.g., theme, dismissed announcements).
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Firebase (Google) — authentication and secure data storage
- MailerLite — waitlist and email communication management
- Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions (we do not store your card details)
We do not share your personal data with these providers beyond what is strictly necessary for them to perform their services.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction — request that we correct inaccurate information.
- Deletion — request that we delete your account and data.
- Portability — request your data in a portable format.
- Opt-out — unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email we send.

Children's Privacy
Route My Money is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
